Our Lady of Light Parish Church was one of the biggest churches around Bohol and probably one of the oldest. It was located at Loon, Bohol. Yes, you read it right, “was”, because it was ruined by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake way back in October 15, 2013. Yet, the destruction doesn’t affect the real ‘church’, the people, which is the body of the building. That rage may have made the Loonanons cry but it didn’t strike the faith of the people.

Remained standing, the Loonanons faced the hardships in a brave way. They flew like an eagle soaring up high to raise back to what Loon was before. Everybody knows it is not that easy but with the help of everybody’s cooperation, Loon is standing tall right now.
“When you are broken, accept things, move on and start a new chapter”. It doesn’t mean that if something is broke, you should just stop. A big N-O! As that church was ruined, Loon has immediately made an alternative church made of lumbers. It was then followed by an extension, the Saint Joseph Church. But right now, rebuilding of the Our Lady of Light Parish Church is ongoing.
